==Independent consultancy==
 
In August 2016, Hudson sought the advice of the [[Advisory Committee on Business Appointments]] (ACOBA) on setting up an independent consultancy. The consultancy's focus is on the 'future operational landscape and potential crises as well as highlighting capability shortfalls across Europe', making make use of Hudson's 'strategic understanding of the international community'. The [[ministry of defence]] (MOD) expressed no concerns over the appointment.
