Steve Pye is the former chairman of the Blackpool Flyde & Wyre branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, and current chairman of Lancashire Regional TV and community interest companies partnered with 3E.

He is a member of the pro-fracking business group Lancashire for Shale. [1] and was previously also involved in the North West Energy Task Force[2] Pye has spoken strongly in favour of fracking, saying:

'We are the country that banned conkers, skipping and hopscotch in the playground, and I don’t believe that any of those three agencies would allow something unsafe to go ahead if they thought it was unsafe.' [3]
