Stephen Green is Head of Greater China research at Standard Chartered Bank in Shanghai. According to the bank 'He lives in Shanghai and travels widely around China. He is still learning Chinese, a never-ending struggle.'[1]

Prior to joining Standard Chartered Green was 'Head of the Asia Programme at London’s Chatham House, The Royal Institute of International Affairs, and was the Deputy Editor on The Economist's The World in... magazine for several years, during his Ph.D. work.'[1]

Green has a Ph.D. 'from the Department of Government, London School of Economics and Political Science and a first class Honours degree from Cambridge University. He has been a visiting researcher at Fudan University in Shanghai and at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.'[1]
