Specialist Group International (SGI) was formed in 1995 by its chief executive Peter Faulding.

It provides rescue response to police, fire and other government agencies, and has 'carried out all of the major protester removal operations since the Newbury Bypass in 1995 including “Swampy” at the A30 Honiton Bypass.
