Since 2007, Sean Williams has been Executive Director of the Office of Fair Trade [1] (OFT), Markets and Projects division.

This division enforces consumer and competition law in UK markets.

Williams is from Ofcom, where he was Executive Director and Competition Partner. He led Ofcom’s transformation of fixed line telecoms regulation, including the operational separation of BT.

Williams is also a non-executive director of Williams Lea Holdings plc, an international business services company of 10,000 employees.

From 1997 to 2003 he was a partner of LEK Consulting, a strategy consulting firm. From 1995 to 1997, he was a special adviser in the Prime Minister's Policy Unit.
