Saudi Arabia National Guard Communications Project (SANGCOM) looks after a military communications project supplying the Saudi Arabian National Guard, said to be worth about £2billion a year. The contract is within what is now GPT Special Project Management Ltd, a subsidiary of Airbus.

Following allegations by whistleblowers, in August 2012 the SFO began a criminal investigation into GPT with respect to SANGCOM.

The UK Ministry of Defence has signed one or more Memoranda of Understanding with the Saudi Arabian Government. It then places contracts with UK prime contractors to fulfil the UK's obligations. Although SANGCOM staff are UK civil servants and military personnel, Saudi Arabia reimburses the cost. [1]

According to a Parliamentary Answer, on 1 April 2016 more than 50 UK staff work for SANGCOM.
