Professor Sarah O’Hara is pro-vice chancellor and a professor of geography at the University of Nottingham, where she is co-director of the University of Nottingham Shale Gas Survey which explores public perceptions of shale gas extraction in the UK.

Advisory roles

According to her university profile, O'Hara 'has acted as an advisor to the UNDP, SDC, FCO as well as the UK and EU government on a number of water-related projects and environmental issues. She currently sits on the British Geological Society (BGS) Independent Advisory Committee; is an advisor to the Shale Gas Task Force and a panel member of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) - Celebrating Impact Prize competition. ' She also recently delivered a Massive, Open, Online Course (MOOC) via Future Learn on 'Shale Gas and Fracking: the Politics and Science' to over 9,000 students.[1]
