SRU employed Peter Mandelson in the early 1990s. In his unauthorised biography of Mandelson, Paul Routledge investigated how 'Mandy' managed to pay for his very expensive porperty in Notting Hill. According to Rountdge: 'His work for SRU, the consultancy started by style guru Peter York, in the early nineties brought him about the same salary [approx £28,000] - on his own admission.'
