Royd Barker was an MI5 officer.

He served as head of A Branch in the mid-1980s.[1]

In July 1990, Barker was part of a 'Cabinet Office inquiry team' along with John Muir, established in an attempt to discover who leaked confidential minutes from a Prime Ministerial meeting on German reunification to The Independent on Sunday.[2]
