Roberta Blackman-Woods has been the Labour MP for City of Durham since 2005. She was appointed a Shadow Cabinet Office Minister in 2010, and has been a Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government since 2011.[1]

In September 2015, following Labour's leadership election, Dr Blackman Woods retained her post as Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government, and she has also taken on the Housing brief for the time being. [2]
