Sir Richard Mottram is a former government minister, former chairman of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and the current chairman of Amey plc.

Government

Mottram worked in government for 15 years. Working as permanent secretary at the Office of Public Service and Science in the Cabinet Office, 1992-1995, the UK Ministry of Defence, 1995-1998, the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, 1998-2001, the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, 2001-2002, Department for Work and Pensions, 2002-2005 and finally at the Cabinet Office between 2005-2007.[1]

In the Cabinet Office he has held roles including security and intelligence co-ordinator and as chairman of the joint intelligence committee.[2]
