Polly Billington

Polly Billington is a former special adviser to UK Labour Party leader Ed Miliband from 2007 until 2011. She is now Labour's prospective parliamentary candidate for Thurrock at the 2015 UK general election.

Backgroud

Billington was a BBC journalist for 15 years, reporting for the Radio 4 Today programme and was the first ever dedicated political correspondent for Radio 1 Newsbeat.

Billington played a key role as media director in Ed Miliband's successful 2010 Labour Party leadership campaign and worked closely with him on energy and climate change. She was also an adviser to the Labour Party from 2010-2013. [1]

Now she lives in Grays, Thurrock, and works for a national charity, Citizens Advice. [2]
