Operation Crevice was the codename given to the biggest Metropolitan Police anti-terrorist operation ever conducted in the United Kingdom and was conducted on the 30 March 2004. It is sometimes referred to as the fertiliser plot or the the fertiliser bomb plot.The plot - understood to be an Al-Qaeda operation that was ordered by 'senior al-Qaeda figures in Pakistan and Afghanistan,' [1] aimed to target a series of sites in the United Kingdom with ammonium nitrate bombs.
