Amidst growing pressure from environmentalist group Greenpeace Hakluyt were hired by oil giants Shell and BP. They employed, German spy, Manfred Schlickenrieder to pose as a documentary maker in order to gain information on Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and The Body Shop.
