Colonel Michael John Calverley Robertson is a retired British Army officer.

Army Career

On graduation from Sandhurst, Robertson was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in 2 Green Jackets as of 2 August 1963. his army number was 474047.[1] He was promoted to lieutenant on 2 February 1965.[2]

Indonesian Confrontation

As a lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Green Jackets, The King's Royal Rifle Corps, Robertson was awarded the Military Cross for carrying out an ambush with his platoon in the Serian district of Sarawak, Malaysia, near the Indonesian border in August 1965.[3]

Further Army Career

Robertson was promoted to Captain as of 2 August 1969.[4]

Robertson was promoted to Major as of 31 December 1974.[5]

He was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel as of 30 June 1979.[6]

Northern Ireland

Robertson was mentioned in despatches in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in Northern Ireland during the period 1st February 1982 to 30th April 1982.[7]

Later Army Career

He was promoted to Colonel as of 30 June 1985.[8]

Robertson retired from the Army on retired pay on 31 October 1987.[9]

Post Army Career

As of January 2006, Robertson was a services charity consultant to CCLA Investment Management Ltd.[10]

As of June 2012, Robertson was registered as a trustee of the Army Museums Ogilby Trust.[11]
