Chief Superintendent Maurice Neilly was one of a number of senior RUC officers killed in the 1994 Mull of Kintyre Chinook crash He was head of the RUC Special Branch North Region, a large area stretching from the east coast to the border with Donegal, within which he had overall responsibility for agent-running and surveillance.
