Liam Maxwell was appointed National Technology Adviser to the British government in 2016.

Prior to that he was chief technology officer in the Cabinet Office from 2012 to 2016.

Promoting education technology

At a 2016 edtech conference in London, Maxwell described edtech as 'one of the great hopes of the British economy'. He invited the audience of edtech companies and investors to tell government how it can help them grow. ‘This is a target rich opportunity,’ he said of the export opportunities for education technology companies.[1]
