Lance Price is a former special adviser to the Labour Party.[1]

Background

Price graduated in 1980 with a first in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Hertford College, Oxford, where he was a member of Oxford University Labour Club. He joined the BBC as a News Trainee directly from university, and worked there from 1980 to 1998: including seven years as a Political Correspondent based at Westminster. Price left the BBC in 1998 to become special adviser to Alastair Campbell, a post he held until 2000 when he became the Labour Party's Director of Communications. After leaving his advisery role in June 2001, Price has focussed on writing, commentating and broadcasting.[2]

Price has subsequently published several books, including The Spin Doctor's Diary (2005) and Where Power Lies (2010).[3]

In 2011 Price founded The Kaleidoscope Trust, who, "urge the British government, the Commonwealth, European Union and others to use their power and influence in support of the rights of LGBT people". [4]
