Jonathan Shaw was the Labour member of parliament for Chatham and Aylesford between 1997 and 2010.

Career

Shaw was the Labour MP for Chatham and Aylesford between 1997 and 2010. In 1997 he won 43.1 percent of the vote, 48.3 percent in 2001 and 43.7 percent in 2005, before losing to the Conservative's Tracey Crouch in 2010, after obtaining 32.3 percent of the vote.[1] Whilst in Parliament he held the roles of parliamentary private secretary to the Rt Hon Ruth Kelly, parliamentary under-secretary to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Department for Work and Pensions and minister of state for Regional Affairs.[2]

Revolving door
