John Donaldson, Lord Donaldson of Kingsbridge (1907-1998), was a Member of the House of Lords, initially on the Labour benches before joining the SDP and the Liberal Democrats.
Donaldson served as an Under-Secretary of State at the Northern Ireland Office from 11 March 1974 to 14 April 1976. Prison administration proved to be one of the most controversial parts of his brief.
