Jihad Watch is a website blog launched in October 2003 by 'noted anti-Islam blogger'[1] Robert Spencer to fight against what it labels as 'proponents of jihad and dhimmitude'. For Spencer this includes Muslims since 'No major Muslim group has ever repudiated the doctrines of armed jihad.' Many examples which contradict Jihad Watch's statement can be found on the website of the Council on American Islam Relations where statements by CAIR and other Muslim groups and individuals have been reprinted.[2]

Jihad Watch has also backed the anti-Muslim English Defence League.[3] and operates under the umbrella of the David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC).[4] Jihad Watch's website was designed by Charles Johnson.[5]
