James Murdoch is the son of Rupert Murdoch.[1] He is non-executive director of GlaxoSmithKline. He is Chairman and Chief Executive of News Corporation, Europe and Asia. He is also Non-Executive Chairman of BSkyB and a member of the Board of News Corporation. He served as Chief Executive Officer of BSkyB from 2003 to 2007 and was also previously Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Star TV. He also serves on the Leadership Council of The Climate Group.[2]

Murdoch has said that a "dominant" BBC threatens independent journalism in the UK.[3]
