The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations (IFPMA) was established in 1968[1] and describes itself as[2] 'a non-profit, non-governmental Organization (NGO) representing national industry associations and companies from both developed and developing countries'. Its members consists of companies in areas of research-based pharma-ceutical, biotech and vaccine.

The main objectives of IFPMA are described as being 'to encourage a global policy environment that is conducive to innovation in medicine', to 'foster collaborative relationships and partnerships with international organizations, national institutions, governments and non-governmental organizations' and to coordinate its members efforts and share experience[3].
