Ian Parker is currently senior communications adviser to office of the leader of the opposition & the opposition chief whip. Parker was also the senior political adviser to John Healey the shadow health secretary, as well as special adviser to Healey when he was minister for the Department for Communities and Local Government [1]

Background

Previously, Parker worked for communications firm FTI Consulting, a "global business advisory firm that provides multidisciplinary solutions to complex challenges and opportunities". [2] Parker also worked as head of strategic communications at New Local Government Network a UK think tank that works to transform public services, revitalise local political leadership, and empower local communities. [3]

Parker also has a background in research, as in his early career he started working as a parliamentary researcher to Peter Kilfoyle, as well as working as a research analyst for the National Centre for Social Research. [1]
