Human Tissue Authority (HTA) is a watchdog that supports public confidence by licensing organisations that store and use human tissue for purposes such as research.

They aim to maintain this confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, and with proper consent. They work to 'regulate organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and display in public.' Along with this they also give approval for organ and bone marrow donations from living people. [1]
