Dr Howard Stoate was the Labour Party MP for Dartford[1] from 1997 until he stood down in April 2010. [2] A practising GP, he had announced his intention to quit politics after new rules about MPs registering the time they spent on second jobs were adopted in the wake of the MPs expenses scandal.[3]
Affiliations
Stoate was a patron of the Men's Health Forum.[4]
All Party Parliamentary Groups
Stoate acted as Chair for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Men's Health[5] as well as Chair for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pharmacy[6], the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Patient Safety [7], and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Obesity.
The 2006 House of Commons Register of Interests records that Stoate received occasional income from 'Westminster Experience' training health professionals - (Up to £5,000). He was a speaker (in his role with the APPG on Pharmacy) at UniChems annual Conference in Brazil, with transport and accommodation provided by UniChem.[8]
