Herzliya 2013, the 13th annual Herzliya Conference took place at the Dan Acadia Hotel in Herzliya from 11 to 14 March 2013.[1]

Notable comments

  • IDF Intelligence chief Aviv Kochavi said according to the Jerusalem Post, "the Iranian leadership would like to find itself in the position of being able to break out to an atomic weapon stage in a short period of time, according to the IDF’s intelligence assessments. However, he said that Iran has not yet decided to build the bomb."[2]
  • IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz on Syria: “They’re fighting Assad. But guess what. It’s us afterward. We could be the next challenge for the same organizations."[3]
  • Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi: I would argue that a nuclear Iran must be prevented precisely because it would act rationally. Should Iran acquire a nuclear military capability, it is mainly the conventional balance of the region that would take a different shape.[4]
