New laws presented in Parliament by the former Conservative Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley in January 2011 offered unprecedented opportunities to private healthcare companies operating in the UK. Widely seen as the biggest reform of the NHS since its creation, these changes are being fiercely opposed by health professionals, opposition politicians and members of the public. Our Health Portal pages highlight which private healthcare companies, lobbyists and think tanks have been courting the Conservative Party, and lobbying for such changes.
