Flora Rose has been a special adviser (spad) to Iain Duncan Smith and the Department for Work and Pensions since the 2015 general election. She is a former spad to the leader of the House of Lords, Tina Stowell from September 2013.[1]

History

Previously Rose worked as manager of planning & process at CDC Group plc, a development finance institution owned by the UK Government, for nine months in 2013 before her appointment as special adviser. Prior to this Rose was private secretary to the chief executive officer at CDC Group plc for two years. [2] In 2010 Rose was policy adviser for savings and retirement at the Association of British Insurers [2] Whilst in 2005 Rose was appointed as head of research for the Opposition Whips Office, House of Lords, a job which she continued until 2010. [2]

As special adviser to Stowell, Rose was paid an annual salary of £60,000. [3]

Education

Rose obtained an MA (Cantab) in History at the University of Cambridge. [2]
