The Federal Bureau of Investigation is a US national security and law enforcement organisation. Its stated mission is "to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners."[1]

Islamophobia controversy

The Bureau's training of agents in relation to Islam was the subject of controversy in 2011 when it emerged that materials used included anti-Muslim authors such as Robert Spencer and Daniel Pipes.[2][3]
