Euan Roddin was appointed special adviser to Alistair Carmichael and therefore the Scotland Office in July 2010. [1]

For his role as special adviser to Mr Carmichael, Roddin is paid an annual salary of £62,000. [2]

History

Roddin was spokesman for the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) for a year between June 2009 and June 2010 in Brussels and Strasbourg. Previous to this, he was a speechwriter and policy adviser for the (ALDE) for a year. [3] From 2006, Roddin was speechwriter & policy adviser to the Office of the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, a position which he carried out for two years. Roddin was also the head of office and constituency organiser to Margaret Smith MSP & West Edinburgh Liberal Democrats in 2005/06. [3] In 2004, Roddin was appointed as committee executive for the British Medical Association (BMA) Scotland. [3]

Education

Roddin studied at the University of Edinburgh between 1999 and 2003, obtaining a Master of Arts in Politics. He also went to the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, Bologna Cente to do a postgraduate degree in International Relations in2003 [3]
