Douglas McNeill is a special adviser on economic affairs to Theresa May in Number 10, appointed in December 2016. [1] His appointment led to speculation of a rift between the prime minister and the chancellor. In this role, he has an annual salary of £93,450. [2]

McNeill was formerly a special adviser to George Osborne in the treasury, prior to which he worked in the Conservative Research Department. [3]

He has a ten year career working as a financial analyst in several City banks.
