Doctor Dennis Gillings is Founder & Chairman, Quintiles Transnational Corporation. Dennis began providing statistical consulting and data management services to pharmaceutical clients in 1974 while he was Professor of Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina. Quintiles arose from his consulting activities, was incorporated in 1982, and became a publicly traded company on NASDAQ in 1994.

Today, Dennis focuses on value-added entrepreneurial growth through partnerships and alliances between Quintiles and leading companies in the pharma and biotech industries. He is very active in the company’s expansion, particularly in Japan and Asia-Pacific.

He received a Diploma in Mathematical Statistics from Cambridge University and a PhD in Mathematics from Exeter University. He serves on several boards, including Triangle Pharmaceuticals Inc and ICAgen Inc and is a member of a number of healthcare, medical and university councils in North Carolina. [1]
