David Verney (Lord Willoughby de Broke) was Chairman of St Martins Magazines plc 1992-2008, President, Heart of England Tourist Board 1996-2005, Patron, Warwickshire Association of Boys’ Clubs 1991-2004, and Member of the Anglo-Hong Kong Trust 1996-2006.

He was a member of the House of Lords Select Committee on the European Communities 1996-2001. He was elected to the House of Lords in 1999. He left the Conservative Party in 2007 to join the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). [1]
