Culture Wars, a project of the Institute of Ideas, a core element of the LM network

Culture Wars is an online cultural review and a project of the Institute of Ideas,[1] which is associated with the libertarian anti-environmental LM network. Culture Wars was founded in 1999. “Culture Wars was first launched to complement the conference ‘Culture Wars: Dumbing Down, Wising Up?’, at the Riverside Studios in London in March 1999. The conference was organised by LM (formerly Living Marxism) magazine to explore what was behind debates that had originated in the US about the ‘dumbing down’ of Western culture and society.”[2] As of 2014, it is no longer active. [3]


Culture Wars promotes the following organisations associated with the LM network: Academics for Academic Freedom , Future Cities Project, Manifesto Club and Spiked [4]

Its editor is Dolan Cummings, who has written for Spiked and is associated with the LM network.[5]
