The Clore Duffield Foundation (Charity number: 1084412) was formed in December 2000 from the merger of the Clore Foundation and the Vivien Duffield Foundation. The Clore Foundation was established in 1964 by the late Sir Charles Clore. His daughter, Dame Vivien Duffield, became Chairman of the Foundation in 1979 and created her own in 1987. The priorities of the former Foundations remain the priorities of the Clore Duffield Foundation.[1]

In 2005 the Foundation stated that "Broadly speaking, the Foundation concentrates its support on the cultural sector, cultural sector education (spanning the performing arts, museums, and visual arts education), cultural leadership training, health and social welfare and Jewish causes.[1]

The Foundation has a sister foundation in Israel. The Clore Israel Foundation is a grant-giving foundation established by Sir Charles Clore in 1965. After the death of Sir Charles in 1979, his daughter, Dame Vivien Duffield, assumed the chairmanship of the foundation. [2]
