Blair McDougall
'Blair McDougall is the director of policy to the Scottish Labour Party and the director of the Better Together Ltd campaign.
Career
McDougall has worked for the Labour Party for the majority of his career. He started off as special adviser to Ian McCartney, first when he was a minister without portfolio and the Labour Party chair from 2003 to 2006 and then when he was minister for trade. In June 2007 McDougall was appointed as a special adviser to James Purnell, helping in his roles as secretary of state for culture, media and sport and then secretary of state for work and pensions in January 2008.
In 2009 McDougall was appointed governance adviser to the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative in Rwanda.
In June 2010 he worked as the campaign co-ordinator during David Miliband's campaign to be Labour leader.
In October 2010 he was appointed chief executive of the Movement for Change.
He is currently the campaign director of Better Together Ltd, and was one of the leading campaigners during the vote for Scottish independence.[1]
In October 2014 it was announced McDougall would be appointed director of policy to the Scottish Labour Party during Jim Murphy's election campaign.[2]
