Barbara Heffernan is Director of National Affairs for Anheuser Busch Companies in Washington, D.C. Heffernan joined the company in 1989. Her job as a lobbyist for the firm involves communicating the company's position on regulation and legislation to the United States Congress, Federal agencies, foreign governments and national and international nongovernmental organizations.

Heffernan often works on tourism policy in order to protect and promote Anheuser Busch's entertainments interests, which include Busch Gardens, SeaWorld and Discovery Cove theme parks. Heffernan was instrumental in recent work with the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) to secure the passage of a bill giving Visa Waiver Program countries an additional year to begin producing new passports containing biometric technology.[1] Heffernan sits on the governmental relations board of the American based International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.[2]
