Alice Krieger (DoB 15 August 1942) is an Israeli socialite and a founding member of UK Friends of AWIS, although she no longer holds a position with the organisation. According to Greer Fay Cashman, writing in the Jerusalem Post, Krieger launched the organisation at the instigation of the then Defense Attache at the UK Israeli Embassy Brig. Gen. Itzchaki Chen. [1] The organisation was incorporated on 20 Oct 2000. [2] She is also listed as a former director (18 Apr 2001- 31 Aug 2005) of UK AWIS Trading Limited, the trading arm of the organisation. [3]

In 2010 an article for the Daily Mail listed her profession as 'charity consultant'. [4] Whilst Krieger's Linkedin page describes her as a 'public relations and communications professional'.[5]

Krieger is a noted socialite and holds events bringing together politicians, academics and military officers. According to the Daily Mail she divides her time between London and Tel Aviv [4] and according to the Jewish Chronicle Krieger retired to Israel in 2006. [6]

Political Views

In spite of her past work as a director of UK AWIS Krieger has become critical of both the IDF and the Israeli state more generally. In a letter to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz she described Israeli policies regarding the Palestinians as being akin to apartheid. [7]

At a social event Krieger met and had a public disagreement regarding Israeli settlements with Naftali Bennett Israeli Minister of the Economy, and the leader of the right-wing, religious, political party The Jewish Home.[8]

She is a signatory to the Israeli Peace Initiative where she is described as "an Activist and a fundraising and development consultant". [9]

Krieger is a committee member of A New Way – an organisation devoted to bringing Israelis and Palestinians together.[10]

Other Activities

Krieger is on the international board of governors of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. [11]

She has been an attendee at events held by the Zionist Israel, Britain and the Commonwealth Association. [12]
