Alex Belardinelli is the current head of communications for the Office of the Shadow Chancellor, working as a special adviser to Ed Balls, a role which he has filled since January 2011. Belardinelli also worked as head of campaigns and communications for Ed Balls's leadership campaign in 2010. [1]

Previously Belardinelli worked as a special adviser for the former Department for Children, Schools and Families from 2007 until 2010. Before this, he worked as a parliamentary adviser to the economic secretary at the HM Treasury. [1]
