Young Enterprise Scotland

Young Enterprise Scotland is based inside Strathclyde University in Glasgow. According to the Royal Bank of Scotland who set up Young Enterprise Scotland as part of their Corporate Responsibility work:

Young Enterprise Scotland provides young people (from 15 to 17) at school in Scotland, with a real life insight into work and enterprise. We are sole sponsor of Young Enterprise Scotland's 17 regional award events and the national awards ceremony.

Students create their own limited companies.

The Royal Bank of Scotland provides them with free banking services and support towards the core operating costs. Each Young Enterprise company has a Business Advisor, a volunteer from the business world who acts as their own personal consultant or non-executive Director.

The experience gained includes raising capital to establish the business, developing a business plan and managing a company.

Staff can get involved with Young Enterprise Scotland by mentoring young people and providing business and financial advice.[1]
