Timothy Steel

Timothy Michael Steel (born 3 April 1952) is a British financier and former stock broker with Cazenove, the firm widely assumed to be the appointed stockbroker to The Queen. He was appointed a Trustee of the right-wing think-tank Policy Exchange on 28 March 2006.

He is a member of the Advisory Board of the private equity firm Committed Capital. The company's website gives the following background information on Steel:

Tim was Vice Chairman of Cazenove until early 2010 when he stepped down to pursue a portfolio career and work more closely with smaller developing businesses. He joined Cazenove in 1980 from Robert Fleming and became a partner in 1982. In 1983 he moved to New York as President of Cazenove Inc. He returned to the UK in 1989 and became Head of Institutional Broking in 1991. He was appointed Managing Director of Cazenove Fund Management Limited in February 2000 and subsequently became Chairman in April 2001. He was appointed to the main Board of Cazenove Group plc in March 2001.[1]
