In BBC hardtalk interview with Stephen Sackur that "the case for nuclear has to rest on safety" and that there is a very strong case for that safety. Says he has always been pro-nuclear and that he sees himself as "an advocate for the industry". Questioned on potential conflict of interest he referred to advice given by ACOBA, also that he'd turned down job with EDF... feels that 3.5 years after leaving government is suitable time.

Agreed with Sackur that there has been a culture of secrecy within the nuclear industry.
