Robert Friedmann

Robert Friedmann is an academic affiliated to the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya[1]. In 2006 he attended the Sixth International Conference: Terrorism's Global Impact Conference. Friedmann is the director and founder of the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange[2].

IDC Biography

According to his IDC Herzliya biography:

"He is also the Professor of Criminal Justice and Distinguished Chair of Public Safety Partnerships at Georgia State University. He served as Chair of the Criminal Justice Department, 1989-2002, and is the founding director of the criminal justice Statistical Analysis Bureau (SAB), the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange (GILEE), and the International Law Enforcement Enterprise (ILEE), at GSU. Dr. Friedmann received his B.S. (Sociology and Anthropology, and Philosophy) from the University of Haifa, Israel, in 1974; his M.A. and Ph.D. (Sociology) from the University of Minnesota in 1978; and his M.S.S.W. (Social Work) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981".
"Prior to his appointment at GSU he held teaching positions at the University of Haifa, Israel, and at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. His research interest and published work focus on community policing, terrorism, and crime analysis. He has authored numerous articles and research reports on policing and public safety. He is the recipient of several federal grants (totaling $5.1 million) to improve crime data".
"Dr. Friedmann chaired the Georgia Commission to Assess State Crime Laboratory Needs into the 21st Century; he served as Vice Chair, Metropolitan Atlanta Crime Commission and as Chair of the Advisory Board, The Georgia Security Council. He is a Member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police’s (GACP), and a Member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and its Community Policing Committee"[3].
