John Sewel

John Sewel (Lord Sewel) has been a peer in the House of Lords since January 2996. Originally elected as Labour Party peer, Sewel has been an independent member since 2012.[1]

Sewel was elected as deputy speaker of the House of Lords in 2012. He resigned from this post in July 2015 after videos emerged of him 'taking drugs with prostitutes'.[2]
