James Wates is the chairman of Wates Construction.

Career

Wates joined Wates Construction in 1983. He was appointed marketing director in 1994, on the board in 1997 and chairman in 2013.[1]

Letter to the Telegraph

On 1 April 2015 Wates was one of 103 business leaders who wrote to the Telegraph praising the British Conservative Party's economic policies and claiming a Labour government would 'threaten jobs and deter investment' in the UK.[2]
