James McCormick

James McCormick is Director of the Scottish Council Foundation. He was appointed in 2002, having been Research Director since 1997. His main interests include welfare reform, financial inclusion, the future of schools and public involvement in decision-making. He has been involved in running various citizens' juries and visioning processes, including the Possible Scotland study. He was a member of the Treasury's Policy Action Team 14 on Access to Financial Services. He is a Trustee of the National Extension College. Before joining the Foundation, he worked at the London-based think tank IPPR (Institute for Public Policy Research) with the Commission on Social Justice.
