Gabriele Albertini, MEP

Gabriele Albertini (born 06 July 1950, Milano) is an MEP for Nord-Occidentale from Il Popolo della Libertà for one more term since 14.07.2009. He was elected for the 20.07.2004 - 13.07.2009 parliamentary term from the former Italian political party Forza Italia.[1]

  • Graduate in law (1974).
  • Manager of 'Albertini Cesare Spa', a company working in the aluminium pressure die casting sector (1974-1997).
  • Mayor of Milan (1997-2006).
  • Government delegate to the Municipality of Milan (since 2000) dealing with waste water depuration and for the emergency caused by the traffic and transport problems in the city of Milan (2002-2003).
  • Various posts held in the employers' organisation 'Confindustria':
  • Chairman of the small industry section of Assolombarda (1980-1984);
  • Delegate for small business on the executive board of Federmeccanica - the Italian mechanical engineering trade union federation (1987);
  • Vice-Chairman of Assolombarda (1993-1997);
  • Chairman of Federmeccanica (1996-1997).
