Douglas McNeill is a special adviser on economic affairs to Theresa May in Number 10, appointed in December 2016.  His appointment led to speculation of a rift between the prime minister and the chancellor. In this role, he has an annual salary of £93,450. 
He has a ten year career working as a financial analyst in several City banks.
